History of SBC
There has been an established Baptist Church in Stirling since 1805, making Stirling one of the earliest baptist churches in Scotland. The present church building was built originally as the South Church
In this section you may find some interesting historical documents and photographs illustrating the life and witness of SBC for over 200 years. The most complete study of the church's history for the first 200 years (1805 to 2005) was written by baptist historian Brian Talbot, and titled 'Standing on the Rock'. The book is out of print but occasionally a copy comes available on reseller websites. [Standing on the Rock: A History of Stirling Baptist Church, 1805-2005. By Brian R. Talbot. [Stirling, Scotland]: Stirling Baptist Church, 2005. 185 pp.] It may also be available to read through an online subscription at a public or university library

This old map and photo can help identify the 'old' Stirling Baptist Church which was demolished for redevelopment: McDonalds is the approximate site of the old church
